"We are each our own priest or priestess"
"...We have no formal priesthood in the Craft although those Witches
working in a group or Coven setting will have a High Priestess and High Priest who are the leaders of that group. This does
not make them better Witches; it simply denotes their standing and authority within that group. Having no formal priesthood
means we do not rely on others to interpret or intercede with our Gods for us, we are each entitled to make our own connection
with the Divine in our own way. This might be through ritual, meditation and/or magic and most Witches will use a combination
of different techniques at different times." -Kate West
"We have no 'Book of Instruction'."
"We do not have a book in the way that Christians have the Bible or Muslims
the Koran. There are a great number of books on the Craft, however, and it is up to those who wish to read some of these to
make personal decisions as to their revelance. Each individual can choose the complexity of their rituals, and the form that
their path will take. For some this may mean working in a group or Coven, others may prefer a Solitary path. Some will seek
to work formalized Magic whilst others prefer the Hedgewitch approach, working closely with nature and using herbs to achieve
their Magic." - Kate West
TAROT OF THE MONTH:
The Wheel Of Fortune
As a teacher, the Wheel Of Fortune card urges us to be
aware of life's processes, toss how the inner wheels turn, to appreciate the laws of cause and effect, and to recognize our
own place in the cycles of change. This card also reminds you that since change is the one constant in life, it is wise to
live in a manner that is accommodating of change. Rigidity and resistance to change often lead to a harder fall. Practice
adaptability, versatility, and humor, because there are some life changes over which we have very little control.
The wheel of life reveals our connection to luck and destiny. We don't have
to remain locked in place. Embrace the risk, take the plunge, and luck rides with you. Once you've set everything in motion,
the universe responds quickly to your desires.
HERB OF THE MONTH:
Yarrow
Yarrow is a great herb for bringing in the New Year; with love, courage, and a positive attitude. If
there is a loved one, or family member that you want to get in touch with; carry yarrow in your pocket.
NUMEROLOGY:
Letters in action; E, F
This month we look at the letters "O" and "P"
"O" is creative, standing
for ideas, especially in the line of music. All musicians, composers and writers should have and "O" in the same
somewhere. "O" gives original ideas and needs responsibilty to make it feel important, so it has a chance to shine
at home or in the community. Even though it enjoys trying to convince others it is right, "O" should avoid arguing,
as it can arouse antagonism; so tack is neccessary at all times. The interests of "O" runs to established businesses,
giving a desire to settle down in one place and not be forced to move. "O's" are great for surgery, healing and
are usually successful in court action. It is capable of humanitarian service because of its high principles and a desire
to help others. "O" needs harmony and beauty in its surroundings and gives high ideals.
Plenty, sufficiency and abundance is indicated by the
letter "P." Much of the abundance of the garden and orchard contain a "P"(peaches, pears, apples, pineapples,
persimmons, palpaya, grapefruit, peas, spinach, potatoes, parsnips, peanuts, pine nuts, etc..). "P" gives the ability,
know how and supply of what's needed to do the job. Power and success follow in the wake of those who carry many "P's"
in their name. With its fine determination, "P" also brings many doubts, being very hard to convince in the realms
of religion because it demands proof before it will belief. When "P" finds the truth it is searching for, it can
be highly spiritual and zealous.
Have a safe and Happy New Year!!
